MALCOLM X: Oxford Union Debate

Very well preached!

“I read once, passingly, about a man named Shakespeare. I only read about him passingly, but I remember one thing he wrote that kind of moved me. He put it in the mouth of Hamlet, I think, it was, who said, “To be or not to be.” He was in doubt about something. Whether it was nobler in the mind of man to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, moderation, or to take up arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them. And I go for that. If you take up arms, you’ll end it, but if you sit around and wait for the one who’s in power to make up his mind that he should end it, you’ll be waiting a long time. And in my opinion, the young generation of whites, blacks, browns, whatever else there is, you’re living at a time of extremism, a time of revolution, a time when there’s got to be a change. People in power have misused it and now there has to be a change and a better world has to be built and the only way it’s going to be built is with extreme methods. And I, for one, will join in with anyone, I don’t care what color you are, as long as you want to change this miserable condition that exists on this earth.”

5 Great Influential Muslim Women: Fatimah

Fatimah [Radiyallahu 'Anha (May Allah be pleased with her)], was the youngest of the four daughters of the Prophet [Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam (Peace and Blessings of allah be Upon Him)]. She is known as Saiyidatun Nisa (Leader of the Women), and one of her titles is az-Zahra’ (radiantly beautiful), which is why she is called Fatimatuz Zahra’. She was born five years before the prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH), and migrated to Madinah after the Prophet (PBUH), with her sisters and step-mother Sawdah.

After the death of her mother, Khadijah, she served her father with total devotion and love. The Prophet (PBUH) loved her very much and kept her with him in deep affection. She was loved by all the wives of the Prophet (PBUH). She looked like Khadijah and this reminded people of her great mother.

Fatimah was married to Ali after the battle of Badr in a simple marriage ceremony. The guests were served dates and drinks made from honey. She was about 18 years old, though some say she was only 15 at the time.

Dajjal (The Antichrist) – Forces of Evil – Bilal Philips

Posted in ALL, Beliefs/Aqeedah/Ibadah by Truth Seeker on November 25, 2008

This profound presentation discusses Evil in our world from its origin, how it affects us at the present, and what could result from it in the future. People who believe in God turn away from that belief. How? When personal tragedy strikes, people try to find reason and rhymes to their tragedy, and often times end up rejecting God. Do you know someone who has made this mistake?

It is commonly misunderstood that Satan became a disbeliever because of his disobedience of Allah. If so, does any type of disobedience make you a disbeliever? Then what of Adam, who also disobeyed God? Is he a disbeliever? What exactly brings one to disbelief?

If God is so powerful, why does evil exist? Why is there so much emphasis on Evil rather than Good? Does pleasure in this life necessarily coincide with punishment in the next? Why are some prone to suffering while others are untouched?
This discussion presents the concept of Evil and how one can deal with it realistically.
